Irish Soda Bread
Ingriedients:
4 cups Flour
4 tbsp White Sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup buttermilk
Preheat to 375 lightly grease a lg baking sheet
In a large bowl combine flour sugar baking soda baking powder salt and Butter. Stir in 1 cup buttermilk and egg. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead slightly. Form dough into a round and place on baking sheet.
In a small bowl combine 1/4 cup melted butter and 1/4 cup buttermilk. Brush over the Loaf then use a sharp knife and make an X in the center of the loaf.
Bake for 40-50 min or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. You can continue to brush the Loaf with the mixture as it bakes about ever 15 minutes or so
